Parish Safety Volunteers
Making our local communities safer and more resilient.
Parish Safety Volunteering is a new initiative being developed by Essex County Fire and Rescue Service in partnership with Essex Police.
Parish Safety Volunteers carry out Home Safety Visits on behalf of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and Essex Police; providing information on all areas of home safety within the remit of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and Essex Police, including installing smoke detectors, devising an escape plan and advice on property and personal security and safety. They conduct visits within the boundaries of a small number of Parish authorities.
How can a Parish Safety Visit make you safer?
Parish Safety Volunteers are trained by Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and Essex Police to fit smoke alarms and provide expert advice on:
- How to prevent fire in the home
- How to make you home safe and secure.
