Have you ever thought about becoming involved in a Neighbourhood Watch….

The community will benefit from everyone joining their local Neighbourhood Watch Group or starting their own group. Neighbourhood Watch was started in the UK in 1982, and is now one of the large and successful crime prevention organisations.

The aim is to bring neighbours together to create strong, friendly, active communities where crime and anti-social behaviour are less likely to happen. The vision is that of a caring society that is focused on trust and respect in which people are safe from crime and enjoy a good quality of life.

Neighbourhood Watch is about making sure that fewer people feel afraid, vulnerable or isolated in the place where they live.
It is generally accepted that crime reduction and crime prevention are most successful when they involve everybody, not just the Police.

The question is – what can you do about reducing the opportunity of crime?

Most of us lead busy lives and know that any spare time is at a premium. However, you may find you do have a few hours to spare and can use them as a volunteer to join Neighbourhood Watch and this will benefit your local community.
